Commercial HVAC Technician Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of commercial HVAC systems and equipment
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and service calls on heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues and implement effective repairs
• Service rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, boilers, split systems, VAV systems, and related commercial equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
• Test and verify proper system operation and performance after repairs and installations
• Complete all required service reports, work orders, and documentation accurately and timely
• Respond to emergency service calls, including after-hours and weekend support as needed
• Maintain compliance with all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment conditions, repair recommendations, and maintenance needs
• Maintain company-provided tools, equipment, and service vehicle
• Assist in identifying opportunities for additional maintenance agreements, repairs, and equipment upgrades

Commercial HVAC Technician Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience servicing commercial HVAC equipment
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required
• Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical systems
• Experience troubleshooting commercial controls, thermostats, and Building Automation Systems (BAS) preferred
• Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on rooftops, ladders, and in confined spaces
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
• Proficient with mobile devices and basic Microsoft Office applications

Commercial HVAC Technician Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials as required
• Comfortable working at heights and in mechanical rooms or confined spaces
