Ina Phillip is celebrating more than 25 years as an American Recruiters Independent Franchisee, having opened her Atlanta franchise in 1999. She opened American Recruiters’ second ever franchise location. Initially focused on sales-related searches in the dotcom and telecom industries, Ina made the switch to healthcare in 2003 and has become a tremendous success and a trusted resource in healthcare recruiting. Specializing in the placement of nursing leaders in the acute care environment, Ina has successfully developed long-term client relationships across the country. Ina is uniquely qualified to match the top talent with client needs through her ability to understand the nuances that create a solid foundation for success.
Ina is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and has lived in the Atlanta area since 1987. Ina started her career in the computer industry and was part of the incredible growth of computers into the small business and personal computer arenas. Living in Seattle for 10 years and working with the Vivitar Corporation in their computer division, Ina met and worked with many key players including; Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Dennis Hayes to name a few.
Ina and her husband Marc met while on vacation in Harbor Island in the Bahamas, and they continue to enjoy traveling and exploring the culinary treasures of different countries and regions.

As the owner and operator of the first American Recruiters franchise in Maryland, Guy Kabwenge brings over 16 years of experience in staffing and recruiting across multiple industries. His journey has taken him through diverse sectors, including healthcare, finance, real estate, consumer electronics, and more, where he’s developed a profound expertise in talent acquisition and workforce solutions.
Guy has had the privilege of working with top-tier companies and has managed a team of recruiters. His work in these first-rate organizations sharpened his ability to design and execute large-scale recruitment strategies while maintaining an exceptional candidate experience. He has successfully filled high-volume positions, contributing to the expansion of their sales teams. Additionally, he led the recruiting efforts with Walgreens across the Mid-Atlantic region, recruiting for both salaried and hourly positions in stores and pharmacies.
Throughout Guy’s remarkable career, he’s become renowned for his ability to lead recruitment teams, anticipate market needs, and build strong relationships with both clients and candidates. Now, as a franchise owner with American Recruiters, he’s excited to leverage that experience and success to help businesses in the Manufacturing, Operations and Healthcare sectors find exceptional talent.

Guy lived in Atlanta before relocating to Maryland in 2018. He and his wife have a beautiful daughter and as a family, they love to travel and explore different cuisines, embracing new cultures and experiences along the way.

With over 20 years of experience in healthcare recruiting and account management, Marci Whatley is a true expert in her field. Her recruiting career began in 2004 at AMN Healthcare, where she quickly excelled as a nurse recruiter, earning Rookie Recruiter of the Year honors in 2005. The next year, Marci took on the role of Director of Recruitment for Dynamic Rehab, overseeing staffing for 21 nursing homes across Florida. For 14 years, she spearheaded efforts to recruit top rehabilitation talent, including directors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and assistants. Marci’s expertise spans both recruiting and account management. From 2020-2024, She managed various Healthcare Facility contracts and new business development for a travel nursing firm, overseeing a team of 15 healthcare recruiters.
Today, as an Independent Franchisee with American Recruiters, Marci owns the company’s first rehabilitation therapy healthcare recruiting franchise based in Hollywood, FL. Her focus is building partnerships with skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and hospitals to identify top-tier candidates for hard-to-fill roles.
Leveraging two decades of relationship-building skills, Marci takes pride in understanding the nuances that foster successful healthcare teams. She has cultivated long-standing client relationships nationwide through her ability to match exceptional talent with organizational needs.
A Chicago native, Marci has resided in South Florida since 1994. She enjoys spending quality time in her local community with her family and dogs.

Theresa Scialdone brings over 30 years of dynamic and creative leadership experience to her role as VP of Marketing & Branding at American Recruiters. With a distinguished career spanning aviation, airport operations, corporate leadership and the creative arts, Tre is known for building high-performing teams, driving organizational change, and elevating brand visibility and standards with creativity and impact.
Prior to joining American Recruiters, she served on the executive team at Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority (RDU) in Operations, as Director of Parking and then Terminal Services. She’s held multiple leadership roles in operations, safety & compliance and training at both RDU and Midway Airlines. Her business background blends operational excellence with people-focused leadership, always pushing teams to achieve more, together.
With her signature wit, sense of humor and a lifelong love of the creative arts, Tre brings positive energy and originality to every project. She studied both Business and Photography, graduating from the prestigious Hallmark Institute of Photography, where she refined her eye for design, communication and leadership.

Terri Scialdone leads our Corporate Business Office with precision, professionalism, and a deep commitment to operational excellence. She holds a degree in Finance from Texas Christian University (TCU) and brings a strong background in both the insurance and real estate industries, with decades of experience in financial oversight, auditing, and systems organization.
As a former Senior Claims Analyst at Allstate, Terri specialized in investigating complex claims, leading field audit teams, and uncovering root-cause issues that impacted client service. She applies that same diligence to help our franchise operations run more smoothly and efficiently.
Terri is known for her keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and unwavering support of our franchisees. Licensed in real estate and always approachable, she’s not only a vital part of our leadership team, she’s also one of the smartest and kindest people you'll ever meet.

Gino Scialdone’s journey with American Recruiters began in 1986, when he helped lay the foundation for what would become one of the most respected names in executive search and recruiting. Starting as a top producer specializing in sales, sales management and banking placements, Gino quickly identified the opportunity for growth—demand far exceeded the capacity of a small, local team.
By the late 1980s, he was instrumental in expanding the company beyond its Fort Lauderdale roots, opening new offices in Miami and West Palm Beach. This growth propelled the brand into the multimillion-dollar revenue range and positioned it for national success. In 1994, Gino acquired full ownership of American Recruiters from his retiring business partner, ushering in a new era of leadership.
Under Gino’s guidance, American Recruiters grew to a 36-person recruiting powerhouse by 1998, driven by a strategic embrace of emerging technologies and layered management systems. He launched the American Recruiters franchise program, opening the first franchise office and laying the groundwork for a scalable national network.
Today, American Recruiters is a multi-faceted, nationwide recruiting firm consistently recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Recruiting Firms—every year since the list’s inception in 2017. It has also been honored with multiple Small Business of the Year awards in South Florida.
