Our client is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge to lead pharmacy operations and a team of pharmacy technicians at a newly opened retail pharmacy location in Galena, Illinois.

Required Experience Qualified candidates should have:

• Minimum 3–5 years of retail pharmacy management experience
• Active PharmD license in the state of Illinois — required at time of application
• Demonstrated experience managing pharmacy technician teams, including scheduling and performance oversight
• Proficiency with pharmacy patient management systems
• Strong working knowledge of HIPAA, Fraud Waste and Abuse regulations, and applicable state and federal pharmacy law
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Required Qualifications Candidates must have:

• Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
• Active, unrestricted Illinois Pharmacist License — candidates in process of obtaining licensure will not be considered
• Ability to lead, direct, and motivate a pharmacy technician team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Commitment to regulatory compliance, patient safety, and operational accuracy

Key Responsibilities In this role, the Pharmacist in Charge will be responsible for:

• Reviewing and executing provider prescriptions, verifying appropriateness and legality
• Preparing and dispensing medications using correct dosages and materials for each individual patient
• Maintaining full control over medication inventory, including stocking, labeling, and monitoring for expiration or deterioration
• Organizing the pharmacy for maximum efficiency and ease of product identification
• Maintaining accurate patient profiles and complete medication dispensing histories
• Directing the daily work of pharmacy technicians, providing performance input and advising senior management of any issues or accommodations
• Managing technician schedules and coordinating daily staffing needs
• Ensuring pharmacy staff compliance with all federal, state, local, and facility-specific regulations and policies
• Listening to and advising patients on medication needs, usage, and concerns
• Upholding all HIPAA and applicable credentialing standards
