Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

If you turn wrenches on ammonia systems in northwest Ohio, you already know the trade-off the industry hands you: the good money is on the road, and the road costs you two hundred nights a year. We are hiring in the Lima area because we decided that trade-off is not actually necessary.

Our service model is built around keeping technicians inside their own region and home at the end of the shift. Lima, Findlay, Van Wert, Wapakoneta, Celina, Defiance, Bluffton - if it is inside roughly a two-hour drive, it is your work. We can run you overtime when you want the hours, and you still pull into your own driveway at night. In ammonia refrigeration that is close to unheard of, and it is the single biggest reason technicians come to us.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

- Running service calls on industrial ammonia refrigeration systems for food, beverage, and cold storage customers across northwest Ohio

- Troubleshooting and repairing screw and reciprocating compressors, evaporative condensers, evaporators, pumps, recirculating packages, packaged air handling units, packaged chillers, and operating controls

- Planned maintenance on all components of the system

- Being the customer's first and best call - the relationship you build on site is the reason they call back

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

- Five or more years of industrial refrigeration experience preferred; strong plant operators looking to move into service are encouraged to apply

- Ability to troubleshoot and repair screw and reciprocating compressors, evaporative condensers, evaporators, pumps, recirculating packages, packaged air handling and chiller units, and operating controls

- Comfortable performing planned maintenance across all system components

- Customer relations skills - our technicians are the face of the company at every site

- Willing to be coached, and willing to coach the tech coming up behind you

- Basic computer skills, smartphone, Windows-based laptop

- Valid driver's license and a safe driving record
