Director of Cath/EP Lab and Surgical Services (RN) - Phoenix, AZ Metro Area | Acute Care Hospital System
The Opportunity
- A well-established acute care hospital in the Phoenix, AZ metro area is looking for an experienced and progressive perioperative nurse leader to step into the role of Director of Procedural and Surgical Services (RN).
- The hospital has built a strong reputation for its cardiovascular and surgical program, and this position puts a proven leader at the helm of one of its most important service lines.
- The Director carries round-the-clock accountability for the OR, Pre-op, PACU, and Cath/EP lab, working hand-in-hand with physicians and senior leadership to raise the bar on quality, patient experience, and staff performance.

Required Experience
- At least five years of progressively responsible director- or management-level leadership within OR, Cath Lab, and Pre-op services
- A track record of overseeing clinical operations, quality programs, staffing, and budget/financial performance within a perioperative department
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across a surgical services division in an acute care hospital setting
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Arizona, or eligibility to obtain one
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a demonstrated knack for building strong relationships across a care team
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related discipline is a plus
- CNOR or another relevant specialty certification is a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day and after-hours performance across the OR, Pre-op, PACU, and Cath/EP lab
- Build, coach, and retain a strong bench of perioperative leaders and frontline clinical staff
- Serve as the primary point of collaboration for surgeons and anesthesia providers, working to make their experience in the department a genuine strength
- Manage the business side of the department — staffing models, scheduling, productivity targets, and the budget
- Track quality and safety data closely, and turn what you find into real changes that move outcomes and performance forward
- Set the tone for a team culture built on ownership, teamwork, and constant improvement
- Invest in the team's growth — development plans, succession pipelines, and keeping strong performers engaged and retained
- Keep the department squarely within federal, state, accreditation, and internal policy requirements
- Weigh in on system-level strategy that shapes where Surgical Services is headed next
