Job Description
Vice President, Equipment Strategy & Programs
Shape how a national foodservice equipment leader buys, prices and partners.
Our client is one of the country’s leading foodservice equipment dealers. It’s growing fast through organic wins and acquisitions, and it wants to be the dealer every manufacturer wants to work with. This new VP role owns that goal. You’ll set the equipment category strategy, run the company’s most important manufacturer relationships, and lead the programs that drive gross margin across the business.
This is a high-visibility seat with direct access to executive leadership. You’ll have a team behind you and room to build.
What you’ll own
- Manufacturer partnerships: Lead strategic relationships with top equipment manufacturers and their rep groups. Negotiate agreements that improve pricing, terms, and service, and bring in new vendors to expand the portfolio.
- Rebate and incentive programs: Design and negotiate rebate structures that grow profit. Run vendor business reviews and work with Finance on forecasting and accruals. Lead year-end push programs so no incentive dollars are left on the table.
- Pricing strategy: Build pricing governance with Sales and Finance, and lead the team that guides the sales force on pricing and bundles large purchases.
- M&A integration: Review vendor agreements and rebate structures during due diligence. Bring acquired businesses onto unified contracts and pricing, and capture the cost savings.
- Vendor performance: Fix issues that frustrate customers and sellers, such as non-performing equipment, long lead times, gaps in rep communication, and divisions buying outside the preferred vendor list.
- Cross-functional leadership: Work as the link between vendor relations, Sales, Operations, National Accounts, and Finance. Help division leaders promote preferred brands and program benefits.
- Industry presence: Represent the company on manufacturer councils and at industry associations, and use what you learn there to shape strategy.
What you bring
- Senior leadership experience in category management, vendor programs, purchasing or pricing in foodservice equipment (dealer, manufacturer or rep side)
- A track record of negotiating manufacturer agreements and rebate programs that measurably improved margin
- A strong financial mind, comfortable with KPIs, program ROI, and reporting to executives
- Experience leading teams and influencing sales and field leaders without direct authority
- M&A integration experience is a strong plus
- An established network across the manufacturer and rep community
Why this role
- Real impact: The programs you build directly affect company-wide gross margin.
- Growth platform: An acquisitive, expanding organization with scale behind it
- Visibility: You’ll report to and work alongside senior leadership.
- Industry influence: You’ll be the face of the company to the manufacturer community.
Excellent salary, incentives, and benefits in the $200K+++ range.
