Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Our client, a leading hospital system, is seeking a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join their in-patient rehab team in Modesto, CA. This is a great opportunity for an experienced COTA to make a meaningful impact on patient function, independence, and quality of life while working closely with a supervising Occupational Therapist in a collaborative, hospital-based rehab setting.

Required Experience
Qualified candidates should have:
- Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Associate's Degree from an accredited program
- Minimum of 2 years of OTA experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population
- Minimum of 1 year of outpatient, acute, inpatient, or skilled nursing facility experience
- OTA knowledge necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have:
- Valid California COTA license, or proof of license eligibility
- Ability to commute to or reside near Modesto, CA
- Ability to work a full-time, in-person schedule
- Strong documentation habits in accordance with established care plans
- Commitment to compliance with all company policies and applicable state and federal regulations
Key Responsibilities
In this role, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will be responsible for:
- Administering participant treatment programs as established by the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Assisting the Occupational Therapist in obtaining vital signs, ranges of motion, and strength testing
- Coordinating with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on participants' individual treatment plans
- Handling scheduling of participants' treatments, clinical visits, and billing
- Documenting occupational therapy interventions in accordance with established care plans, including the use of devices, techniques, and activities to promote muscle re-education, perceptual-motor and cognitive function, balance, and endurance
- Supporting participants' independence in performing activities of daily living (ADLs)
