We are seeking a skilled Industrial Rotating Equipment Engineer to support the design, specification, reliability, performance, and lifecycle management of rotating machinery that is critical to safe, efficient, and reliable industrial operations. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong mechanical and reliability expertise who can work with pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, blowers, gearboxes, seals, bearings, and related systems in manufacturing, power, process, or heavy industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, blowers, gearboxes, seals, bearings, couplings, and related systems.

• Develop and review equipment specifications, data sheets, calculations, technical standards, and design requirements for new installations, upgrades, and replacement projects.

• Analyze rotating equipment performance, operating conditions, and reliability data to identify improvement opportunities and reduce downtime.

• Support troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis related to vibration, misalignment, imbalance, seal leakage, lubrication issues, bearing failures, and other mechanical concerns.

• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, reliability, project teams, and vendors to resolve equipment issues and improve asset performance.

• Participate in equipment selection, design review, procurement support, vendor document review, factory testing, installation planning, and commissioning activities.

• Review drawings, schematics, manuals, inspection findings, and technical reports to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable engineering standards.

• Support preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies by recommending inspection plans, monitoring practices, and performance improvements.

• Prepare technical reports, reliability summaries, engineering recommendations, and documentation related to rotating equipment performance and corrective actions.

• Promote safe, reliable, and efficient operation of rotating assets by supporting engineering standards, continuous improvement, and sound mechanical integrity practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering field required.

• Previous experience in rotating equipment engineering, mechanical design, reliability engineering, plant engineering, or a related industrial engineering role preferred.

• Strong knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines, motors, blowers, gearboxes, bearings, seals, lubrication systems, and rotating equipment fundamentals.

• Ability to interpret and develop technical specifications, data sheets, drawings, calculations, and engineering documentation.

• Familiarity with vibration analysis, alignment concepts, failure analysis, condition monitoring, and reliability improvement practices is preferred.

• Knowledge of applicable engineering codes, standards, and safe work practices relevant to industrial rotating equipment is preferred.

• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to support cross-functional teams and technical decision-making.

• Professional Engineer licensure, EIT certification, reliability certification, or industry-specific credentials may be preferred depending on the organization and role scope.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is analytical, technically capable, and detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving ability and sound engineering judgment. They communicate clearly, collaborate effectively across teams, and take a practical approach to improving the safety, reliability, and performance of rotating equipment.

Work Environment

This role may support manufacturing facilities, industrial plants, power generation sites, process operations, capital projects, or reliability initiatives depending on organizational needs. Work may be performed in an office, plant, or hybrid environment and may involve site visits, equipment inspections, vendor coordination, technical reviews, and collaboration with operations, maintenance, and project teams.
