Job Description
Software Specialist
We are seeking a detail-oriented Software Specialist to support the implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of software applications and systems that support business operations. This role is ideal for a technically capable professional who can resolve software-related issues, support users, document solutions, coordinate updates, and help ensure software tools are performing effectively, securely, and reliably.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide support for software applications, systems, and platforms by troubleshooting issues, resolving user concerns, and maintaining stable day-to-day operation.
• Install, configure, test, update, and maintain software solutions in accordance with organizational standards, user requirements, and vendor guidance.
• Analyze software-related problems, identify root causes, and implement or coordinate corrective actions to restore functionality and improve user experience.
• Support software implementation, rollout, upgrade, and integration activities, including setup, testing, data validation, and post-deployment support.
• Assist users with training, guidance, documentation, and best practices to improve adoption, accuracy, and efficient use of software systems.
• Maintain accurate records of support requests, issue resolution, configuration changes, software documentation, and knowledge base updates.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, developers, or IT staff to address software enhancements, system issues, process improvements, and technical needs.
• Monitor software performance, usage trends, and recurring issues to identify opportunities for optimization, standardization, and improved reliability.
• Follow internal policies, change management procedures, access controls, and security requirements related to software systems and business data.
• Promote a professional, responsive, and solutions-oriented approach that supports strong user service, software stability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, software systems, business technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Previous experience in software support, application support, software implementation, technical support, IT systems, or a related role preferred.
• Strong understanding of software applications, system troubleshooting, user support, configuration, testing, and documentation practices.
• Ability to analyze software issues, follow technical procedures, communicate clearly with users, and work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems, software change processes, user training, implementation support, and standard business software is preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, support end users professionally, and maintain accurate technical documentation.
• Relevant certifications related to software systems, application support, IT service management, or specific software platforms may be preferred depending on the role and organization.
