Job Description
Technical Hardware Specialist
We are seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented Technical Hardware Specialist to support the selection, application, coordination, and technical support of hardware products used in industrial, commercial, or technical environments. This role is ideal for a professional who understands mechanical components, product specifications, and customer requirements and can help ensure accurate recommendations, smooth order execution, and responsive technical support.
Key Responsibilities
• Support customers, internal teams, or operations by identifying, recommending, and coordinating hardware solutions that align with application requirements, specifications, and project needs.
• Interpret product specifications, technical drawings, part numbers, dimensions, tolerances, and hardware requirements to help ensure accurate product selection and order fulfillment.
• Assist with product inquiries, quotations, order support, substitutions, lead times, and technical questions related to hardware components, assemblies, or related systems.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of hardware categories, materials, applications, product features, installation considerations, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with customers, vendors, engineering, sales, operations, warehouse, and procurement teams to resolve issues and support timely, accurate execution.
• Review and maintain product records, order documentation, customer requirements, specifications, and related information in business systems or product databases.
• Support troubleshooting related to fit, function, compatibility, installation, damaged shipments, shortages, or product performance questions in a timely and professional manner.
• Prepare and maintain quotes, technical information, product cross-references, documentation, and follow-up communications accurately and on time.
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams regarding product availability, timelines, application considerations, recommended alternatives, and next steps.
• Promote a professional, organized, and solutions-oriented approach that supports customer satisfaction, technical accuracy, and efficient operations.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, industrial technology, mechanical systems, engineering technology, operations, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in technical hardware, industrial supplies, MRO products, inside sales support, customer service, order management, or a related technical support role preferred.
• Strong understanding of hardware components, materials, dimensions, part numbers, specifications, and application support is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, product specifications, diagrams, and related documentation.
• Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Comfort working with quotes, orders, spreadsheets, ERP or CRM systems, catalogs, and standard business software.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• A practical understanding of installation methods, product fit and function, or industrial/commercial applications is a plus.

Work may be performed in an office, showroom, warehouse-adjacent, customer-facing, or hybrid environment and may involve regular coordination with vendors, customers, engineering teams, and operations staff.
