Job Description

Food Processing and Production Technician

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Food Processing and Production Technician to support the preparation, processing, packaging, and handling of food products in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on team member who can operate food processing equipment, follow production schedules and specifications, perform quality and sanitation tasks, and help maintain compliance with food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

 

• Operate, monitor, and adjust food processing and production equipment to support safe, efficient, and consistent manufacturing of food products.

• Prepare, measure, weigh, mix, process, assemble, and package food products in accordance with recipes, formulations, work instructions, and production schedules.

• Inspect raw materials, in-process items, and finished products to help ensure quality, consistency, labeling accuracy, and compliance with product specifications.

• Perform routine equipment checks, basic adjustments, setup, changeovers, and minor troubleshooting, and report malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.

• Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, quality checks, downtime notes, and other required manufacturing logs.

• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices, sanitation procedures, allergen controls, HACCP-related requirements, and company food safety standards at all times.

• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, and production lines to support hygiene, product safety, and readiness for ongoing production.

• Support packaging, labeling, palletizing, storage preparation, and material handling activities as needed to meet production and shipping requirements.

• Work collaboratively with team members, quality, sanitation, maintenance, and supervisors to maintain production flow and resolve issues efficiently.

• Promote a safe, clean, organized, and quality-focused work environment while following all company policies and workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Previous experience in food processing, food production, manufacturing, packaging, sanitation, warehouse, or a related production environment preferred.

• Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures is preferred.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, recipes, batch sheets, SOPs, and safety procedures accurately.

• Comfort operating production equipment, performing repetitive tasks, and working in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to maintain attention to detail, complete documentation accurately, and support product quality requirements.

• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials or products, and work in environments that may include cold, wet, noisy, or temperature-controlled conditions.

• Dependable attendance, teamwork, and a strong commitment to food safety and quality are essential.

Work is typically performed on-site and may involve standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, PPE requirements, sanitation procedures, shift work, and exposure to temperature-controlled, wet, or noisy conditions.
