Safety & Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Safety & Compliance Specialist to help ensure a safe, compliant, and well-documented work environment across daily operations. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who can support safety programs, conduct inspections and audits, deliver training, investigate incidents, track corrective actions, and help maintain compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies, procedures, programs, and compliance initiatives across the organization.

• Conduct routine workplace inspections, safety audits, and compliance reviews to identify hazards, policy gaps, and areas for improvement.

• Assist with incident, accident, near-miss, and workplace concern investigations, including documentation, root cause review, and corrective action follow-up.

• Monitor corrective and preventive actions to help ensure identified issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner.

• Provide or coordinate safety training, compliance awareness, onboarding education, toolbox talks, and refresher sessions for employees as needed.

• Maintain accurate records related to inspections, incident reports, training completion, audits, safety observations, and compliance documentation.

• Help ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, internal standards, reporting requirements, and organizational policies.

• Partner with operations, HR, facilities, maintenance, leadership, and other internal teams to support safe work practices and compliance expectations.

• Prepare reports, summaries, and updates related to safety performance, audit findings, incident trends, and compliance activities for management review.

• Promote a professional, safety-focused, and accountability-driven approach that supports a strong culture of compliance, risk awareness, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health, business, industrial technology, public health, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

• Previous experience in safety, compliance, environmental health and safety, risk management, quality, operations support, or a related role preferred.

• Strong understanding of workplace safety practices, regulatory compliance concepts, inspections, audits, training, and documentation requirements.

• Ability to identify potential risks, support investigations, track action items, and communicate clearly with employees, managers, and cross-functional teams.

• Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and follow-through.

• Experience with spreadsheets, reporting tools, incident tracking, audit records, learning systems, or standard business software is preferred.

• Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and support a consistent and professional compliance process.

• Relevant certifications such as OSHA, CSP, ASP, CHST, or other safety or compliance-related credentials may be preferred depending on the role and organization.

Work may be performed on-site, in the field, or in a hybrid setting and may involve inspections, reporting, employee interaction, training support, documentation review, and coordination with internal teams and regulatory expectations.
