Nurse Manager, ICU – Southern California

Required Experience: Qualified candidates should have:

• Two or more years of recent acute care experience, with ICU experience required
• Prior leadership experience as a Manager or in another Supervisory role
• Basic EKG and telemetry interpretation experience, or willingness to complete a Basic EKG course within six months of hire
• A track record of clinical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to adapt to new information, technology, and evolving nursing practice

Required Qualifications: Candidates must have:

• Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing program (BSN preferred)
• Current and valid California RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification

Key Responsibilities: In this role, the Nurse Manager, ICU, will be responsible for:

• Overseeing daily operations of the ICU, including staffing to census and ensuring the department has the supplies and equipment needed to care for patients
• Maintaining a high level of clinical expertise and serving as a clinical resource to uphold nursing standards within the unit
• Ensuring adherence to hospital and unit policies and providing oversight for staff on the same
• Responding effectively in emergency patient care situations
• Delegating tasks and assignments to appropriate members of the care team to keep the unit running smoothly
• Modeling the positive traits of a successful manager, adapting to change, and participating as a team player
