Field Service Technician / Service Representative
We are seeking a skilled, customer-focused Field Service Technician / Service Representative to provide on-site installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair support for equipment and systems at customer locations. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can diagnose issues, complete service work accurately, document findings clearly, and deliver responsive support that helps ensure reliable equipment performance and strong customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
• Travel to customer sites to install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, systems, or components in accordance with service procedures and quality standards.
• Respond to service calls, field dispatches, and customer requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement repairs, adjustments, or replacement solutions to restore proper operation.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and system checks to support equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Read and interpret service manuals, technical drawings, schematics, work orders, and equipment documentation to complete work accurately and efficiently.
• Document service activities, inspection findings, parts used, recommendations, and customer updates through service reports, tickets, or mobile field systems.
• Provide customers with basic training, operating guidance, and equipment care recommendations when appropriate.
• Maintain service tools, parts inventory, test equipment, and company vehicles in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
• Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, supervisors, technical support teams, and other stakeholders regarding service status, timelines, and next steps.
• Follow all safety procedures, site requirements, and company policies while promoting a high standard of workmanship, responsiveness, and customer service.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; technical training, vocational education, or an associate degree in a mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related technical field preferred.
• Previous experience in field service, technical service, equipment maintenance, mechanical repair, electrical troubleshooting, installation, or a related service role preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and customer service skills with the ability to work independently in field environments.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, service documentation, and equipment instructions.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, meters, diagnostic devices, and mobile service or reporting tools preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally or regionally as required.
• Ability to manage time effectively, maintain accurate records, and adapt to changing schedules and customer needs.
• Physical ability to lift equipment or parts, work in customer or industrial environments, and perform service tasks involving standing, bending, climbing, or extended travel may be required.

Work may be performed indoors or outdoors and may involve driving, lifting tools or parts, PPE requirements, varying schedules, and coordination with customers and internal support teams.
